WHY WE ARE IN THE U.S.A.

In 2018 we opened our US office: HVFC USA, Inc. With our amazing team of associate consultants we are working towards the diversification of fundraising opportunities for organizations in the U.S.A. and worldwide!

Since 2018 a lot has happend. We have seen different governments. Huge cuts on government funding on development cooperation and global health. But why are we still there? And why should the US fundraising market be still interesting to you?

According to Giving USA, the United States has a $592.50 billion giving market! This number is not only stunning, but it is also constantly growing by billions USD each year. Over $100 billion of this philanthropic funding is coming specially from US based foundations.

It is true that there is pressure on this market, such as the “One Big Beautiful All Act“. We see that Tax Incentives are changing and that there is a new floor for corporate deductions: making corporate giving less attractive. For philanthropic foundations US politics might have an effect on some of the programming they do and how they fund. 

But, there are still plenty of funding opportunity to be explored across the Atlantic. Many non-US based NGO’s are still successful in securing millions of USD’s for their programs. With our U.S. office, we help international entities seize those opportunities in different ways.

 

Through roadshows

We have organized multiple roadshows for European organizations willing to explore the U.S. market. In those roadshows, we can test the appetite for your organization! In other words – this a quick way to see if you can potentially become successful in the US and what success could mean for you. 

Together with you we can select relevant partners and donors. We will set up meetings with them, prepare donor-specific material, and accompany you – if you wish –  to those meetings. Of course, we also organize similar roadshows for American organizations that wish to explore the European market. 

Trainings & workshops

How to develop a fundraising strategy that is adapted to the American market as a non-U.S. organization? How to do so in Europe as an American organization? What topics live most among donors, and how do you build relationships with them? Are there specific cultural elements to keep in mind when doing this? What are the ingredients for the perfect fundraising pitchWe have first-hand experience in the matter and will be happy to share it with you in a training. We give in-company training as well as at our training venue. Having an office in Washington D.C. gives us the opportunity to reach even more NGO and fundraising professionals and to help them refine their fundraising skills.

Cross-continental representation

With one office in the U.S.A. and another in The Netherlands, we are able to act as a representative of non-profit organizations on either side of the Atlantic. Whether you need us to be present at an important event and act on your behalf, or you want us to negotiate with possible partners, we can do the job for you.
