Day 1: Research and setup

Understanding the donor – What are donors really looking for, and how can you stand out?

Setting up a proposal team – What roles are needed, and how should you structure the proposal development process?

Creating a review grid – Learn how to identify both formal and informal evaluation criteria and organize the review process.

Drafting a proposal outline – Understand the key components of a proposal and how to build a solid structure.
Day 2: Writing and Refining

Writing key sections – Dive deeper into crafting specific parts of a proposal.

Collaborative grant writing – Learn how to write consistently and coherently as a team.

Persuasive writing – Strengthen your proposal with techniques for writing convincingly.

Compliance and responsiveness check – Review proposals to identify weak points before the donor does.
Who is this for?
At HVFC we know that fundraising is a team effort. This summer school is designed for both fundraising and non-fundraising professionals with some experience in proposal development, whether you write, review, or coordinate proposals.
We keep the group small and interactive, with a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 15 participants. You’ll work on real cases, tailored to the group’s diverse backgrounds, for practical, hands-on learning.

Costs
- The fee starts at 995 euro (for the first 5 signups), 1.495 for the next 5 and 1.995 for the final 5.
- The fee includes workshop participation, lunch and refreshments, and the follow-up feedback.
- No VAT added! HVFC is audited and certified by CRKBO, which allows us to offer VAT-exempt training.

Practical information
The workshop will take place on 7-8 July 2025 at our office in Eursinge, gem de Wolden. Eursinge is a small hamlet in the province of Drenthe, located next to the beautiful Dwingelderveld National Park—a perfect setting for focused and reflective work.
Getting there:
Eursinge is accessible by car via the A28 highway or by public transport via Hoogeveen train station.

Han
Combining his extensive network with his insider’s knowledge of the sector, Han is the cornerstone whose support boosts every fundraising, impact and recruitment processes. He brings 20 years of experience as head of fundraising for ICCO, KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation and Fairfood.

Kenneth
Kenneth worked as institutional fundraising director for many international NGOs such as BRAC International, KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation, What Design Can Do and the Global Reporting Initiative. At HVFC she supports our clients with impactful fundraising strategies.
